Philip J. Fischer II, MD, FACS
General Surgeon

     Dr. Fischer was born and raised in Montgomery, Alabama. He attended Vanderbilt University, where he studied and helped design medical technology. After obtaining his degree in biomedical engineering from Vanderbilt, he attended medical school at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Dr. Fischer then completed surgical training at Carraway Methodist Medical Center in Birmingham. In 2005, he founded his surgical practice at St. Vincent's Hospital and has been board certified since 2003. Furthermore, he is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and has repeatedly been voted a Top Doctor in Birmingham Magazine by his peers.

Medical Assistant

Kayla will work directly with your insurance provider to obtain pre-certifications for diagnostic studies and surgical procedures. She will also schedule your diagnostic appointments and guide you through your preoperative preparations. Additionally, Kayla will arrange and schedule your surgery.

Whitney Carver
Receptionist

Whitney will answer your call and gather your information to help schedule your office visit. She will also assist with your insurance and medical leave filings with your employer.

Tabitha Kanute
Billing Specialist

Tabitha has over twenty years of experience in healthcare. She will be assisting you with your billing and insurance needs.
